San Antonio Bitcoin ATM Now Available
We’re happy to announce that Pelicoin’s San Antonio Bitcoin ATM is available and ready to use! Pelicoin has been steadily expanding and growing as the number one Bitcoin ATM in the Gulf South. There are now four Bitcoin ATMs in San Antonio, Texas, which can help you save and invest in cryptocurrency.
San Antonio is positioning itself as one of the leaders in the cryptocurrency market, and so many miners relocating to Texas is being called a modern-day gold rush. This exposure means that more people are looking for easy ways to invest in crypto as it becomes a larger part of the Texas economy.
What is a Bitcoin ATM?
Many people understand what Bitcoin is, but why do we need Bitcoin ATMs? At its foundation, an ATM allows users to better access their financial accounts. They do this by increasing access, providing convenient access, and being available to all. Pelicoin ATMs make it very easy to better use your crypto in a more liquid way than other services.
You may be wondering why one of the major apps on your phone wouldn’t be a better way to buy and sell crypto, but these platforms often don’t transact very quickly, and you usually don’t have immediate access to your crypto if you need to sell for some quick cash. However, with a Bitcoin ATM, you can now withdraw some money as quickly as you can from a regular ATM.
Pelicoin ATMs are also unique in that they function as regular ATMs. Many other machines out there act less like ATMs and require you to either store your crypto on their platform or use an app funded by the company. Pelicoin ATMs allow you to access your wallet without the fuss of dealing with another company. You don’t want to lose access to your crypto if a company conducts server maintenance or has a problem with its app. Pelicoin takes the middleman out of your crypto trading by providing you with a portal where you can access your crypto personally.
How Does it Work?
Pelicoin ATMs work precisely like standard ATMs, without the use of your debit card. Instead, you will need your wallet address, and it’s as easy as following the instructions on the screen of the ATM. We also have a thorough step-by-step guide that clarifies any other questions you might have.
Tap the "Buy Coins" button on the start screen.
Select the amount of U.S. dollars you want to convert into cryptocurrency.
Using the keypad, type your cell phone number.
Using the keypad, type the verification code sent to your phone.
Select which coin you want to purchase: Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Ethereum.
Select how you want to receive your cryptocurrency: “QR Code Scan,” “Enter Wallet Address,” or “Create Paper Wallet.”
If you don’t yet have a wallet and still want to use a Pelicoin machine, selecting “Create Paper Wallet” will print off a unique key for you to use to access your wallet. Still, this shouldn’t be a permanent solution for you since it can fade or be damaged. Instead, you’ll want to take steps to create your wallet, which is quick and easy to do by educating yourself with a comprehensive guide.
Is it Safe?
Yes! Pelicoin ATMs are entirely safe. When you hold your wallet key, the only significant risk of losing your crypto is in fraud cases, where crypto holders are deceived and convinced to send their cryptocurrency to another user. You might think you wouldn’t fall for that, but fraud is becoming more common and sophisticated every day.
The problem with fraud in crypto is that any government organization doesn’t back it, so if you make a mistake, there’s no financial safeguard for you. To help combat this, Pelicoin warns every user about fraud through the interface. That acts as one final reminder to think through who you’re sending money to and what for.
Fraud typically happens when there is a sense of urgency around the situation. For example, if someone needs money quickly or you only have so long before a deal is gone, you usually don’t think about the scenario. We’ve found that these safeguard prompts do a great job of deterring fraud before it happens.
